Rev. Dr. Lee C. Winfrey Sr., received his formal training in the Chicago Public School System. He studied theology at the Chicago Baptist Institute from November of 2002 until August of 2004. From there, his theological education continued at Life Christian University, Tampa Florida. In September of 2004 he graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Theology and a Masters of Theology. In November of 2011, he graduated Magna Cum Laude with an earned Doctor of Ministry - Theology.

 

In September 2019, Dr. Winfrey published his first book: “What To Do When You’ve Been Given a Bad Hand.” In June of 2023 The Lord, and Dr. Winfrey’s love for pastors moved him to organize and started a workshop called “Pastors Matter Too!” It is designed to help, train, and encourage pastors, church leaders, and parishioners in understanding the biblical importance and impact of pastors. How they should be treated and honored in the churches they lead, as well as the need to understand the call of a pastor from the spiritual and natural perspective. In August of 2026, the Lord blessed Dr. Winfrey to publish his second book: “Broken But Not Finished” How God Turns Chaos Into Calling. God never promised a life untouched by pain, but He is able to rebuild, restore and reveal purpose in places that seem beyond repair.

 

In addition, Dr. Winfrey is a faithful bible teacher, a dynamic and anointed preacher of the gospel with a sincere heart for God’s people. He’s a pastor of pastors, trainer of preachers, developer of disciples, and evangelist for the lost and unchurched in a multi-generational environment. He believes your lifestyle preaches the greatest sermons. He’s Moderator of the Metropolitan Missionary Baptist District Association of Detroit, MI. He is also a member of the Wolverine State Missionary Baptist Convention as well as the National Baptist Convention USA, Inc.  He’s a man of integrity with a true servant’s heart and Christian character whose transparent style of leadership has helped people receive God’s forgiveness, restoration, and begin to envision themselves as Christ sees them. He possesses a loving, compassionate character, along with a great sense of humor.

 

Dr. Winfrey has been married for over 33 years to his wonderful, beautiful, fine wife Kimberly and together they have 4 children and 1 grandchild.

His foundational Scripture is recorded in Isaiah 40:31 “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint.”
